What is it about?

We often think of exclusion, bullying, harassment, and racism as issues between two people: the perpetrator and the victim. However, in many cases, there’s a third-party present: the witness.

At some point, we’ve all been that witness. The critical question is: What did we do? Were we a colluder who laughed along, a bystander who stayed silent, or a challenger who sensitively addressed what we saw?

Your organisation’s culture and team climates are shaped by the behaviours that are either addressed or allowed to persist. As managers, how we respond as witnesses plays a pivotal role in creating inclusive environments. This session equips managers to be active allies, empowering them to challenge non-inclusive behaviours and take meaningful action.

This isn’t about perfection—people make genuine mistakes, often with good intentions. But cultures are built on what we tolerate. Ignoring non-inclusive behaviours undermines DEI efforts and hinders progress.

Managers will learn how to identify and address both overt and subtle microaggressions, initiate difficult but necessary conversations, and model the behaviours that foster inclusive and psychologically safe climates.

  • Address microaggressions: Develop strategies to engage in meaningful conversations when microaggressions arise.
  • Commit to action: Identify everyday behaviours that drive inclusion and demonstrate allyship.
